Cat Blog Friday
For this Cat Blog Friday...
... two talking cats.
The makers of the video report that Stina and Mossy (the two cats seen in this video) usually fight instead of talk, so this was an odd moment. The cats kept "talking" for about 1 hour, constantly. We've had alot of laughs over this clip..
Here's The Translation
And not one mention of Mohammed was made.
Happy Friday, everybody!

After just a few weeks of not using our pool, the enclosure has turned into a spider haven. On Sunday, we (OK, Mr. Cube) caught 33 crab-like spiny orb weaver spiders (Gasteracantha cancriformis) and several egg sacks.
If you click on the above picture, you will get a better look at the thick mass of spiders.
This is what the little devils look like up close...
[The BLOG note: Disclaimer: all spiders were hurt in the making of this post.]

Send A Box
Yesterday I personally lugged 3 heavy boxes to the post office. They were heaving with goodies for the troops and I was assured that there is still time to send a box and have it arrive in time for Christmas.
But time is running out...
Click here for my May 2007 post detailing the mailing information.
Or go directly to AnySoldier.com to obtain the name and address of a soldier who would like to receive your box.
We have sent many boxes since May and, although we were warned not to expect thank you letters, we have received some heartwarming notes and emails thanking us for not forgetting about them.
Send a box. You'll be glad you did.

Where was Hillary in 1971? Working at one of the most radical law firms in the nation which defended clients others rejected as too controversial, including Communists, draft resisters, and members of the African-American militant group known as the Black Panthers.

Shut Up Chavez!
When Spain's King Juan Carlos told Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez to 'Shut up', little did he know it would be turned into a ringtone and become a hit all over Spain.
Hear it for yourself:
Porque no te callas?

Bridge Over Troubled Waters
Thats a photo of the U.S. women's bridge team when they won the Venice Cup championship in Shanghai, China last month.
They couldn't just accept the prize, no, they felt the need to inject politics into a thoroughly apolitical event.
The act has angered many and the United States Bridge Federation is deliberating (and handwringing) over what steps, if any, to take next.
I say, "Shame on you, hairbrained harpies. I never voted for Bill Clinton, but you can bet your medals I would never have gone on foreign soil and disrespected the office of the Presidency (even if the occupant deserved disrespect)."
Next time stick to playing cards.
Unexplained Blue Cloud Floats, Darts Around Customers At Gas Station. Witness: 'It Gives Me Chills'
Fuzzy thinking or a piece of fuzz?
The blue cloud has been referred to as an angel, a blue plastic bag from Walmart, and even a malevolent energy cloud from Star Trek.
What do you think it is?

From The Drudge Report: CNN's Wolf Blitzer has been warned not to focus Thursday's Dem debate on Hillary. 'This campaign is about issues, not on who we can bring down and destroy,' top Clinton insider explains. 'Blitzer should not go down to the levels of character attack and pull 'a Russert.''
Classic Clintonian political machinations. Since when is asking a question a character attack?
If I were Wolf, I would ask all of the Dems tough questions, and then I'd watch my back.
BTW the Hillary Nutcracker is an actual item which sells for $24.95. The Thighmistress has rock-solid steel thighs for cracking those tough nuts.

The main crew characters for the new Star Trek movie have been cast, but Paramount is holding an open casting call for background actors with interesting and unique facial features.
The casting call lists features such as "long necks, small heads, extremely large heads, wide-set eyes, bug eyes, close-set eyes, large forehead, short upper lip, pronounced cheekbones, over- or under-sized ears and/or nose, facial deformities".

Weather Channel Founder: Global Warming ‘Greatest Scam in History’
Here's an excerpt from the recent posting by John Coleman, the founder of the Weather Channel:
"Global Warming, i.e., Climate Change, is not about environmentalism or politics. It is not a religion. It is not something you “believe in.” It is science; the science of meteorology. This is my field of life-long expertise. And I am telling you Global Warming is a non-event, a manufactured crisis and a total scam. I say this knowing you probably won’t believe a me, a mere TV weatherman, challenging a Nobel Prize, Academy Award and Emmy Award winning former Vice President of United States. So be it."
Another voice of reason.

Orympic Bible Banning
Have you heard about this?
The Bible Among Objects Prohibited At The 2008 Beijing Olympics Village
For "security reasons", no less.
The Catholic News Agency reported this on November 2nd, and if true, why hasn't it received more widespead attention?
That's a rhetorical question.
BTW are they banning the koran too?
Cambio is spanish for change and, in Cuba, you are not allowed to wear a bracelet that advocates for change. Imagine that amount of government control over your everyday life.
Cuban Students Detained For Wearing 'Cambio' Bracelets
Socialism/communism is antithetical to the free exchange of ideas. I can't help seeing parallels in the politically correct movement. Am I off-base on this?
I've been meaning to post about Comet 17P/Holmes, but it's still not too late to see the 2.5 magnitude fuzzball in the constellation Perseus.
Sky Map To Locate Comet Holmes
Comet Holmes began erupting on October 23, brightening by a factor of 500,000 to make it a comet visible with the naked eye. Cloudy skies prevented us from seeing it until October 31, and it's an even more spectacular sight with binoculars.
Look for the patch of sky that looks gauzy.

Cheney's Dog Darth Vader For Halloween
Jackson is dressed as Darth Vader and Dave as Superman. Who says Dick Cheney doesn't have a sense of humor?
At the White House the pet costumes were more subdued: Barney is dressed as a cowboy, Miss Beazley is a strawberry, and India, a crabby-looking wizard.
How cute is that?
