The Beer Summit, a.k.a the Re-Education of Sergeant Crowley will take place at a picnic table near the White House at 6PM today...
Obama's White House 'Beer Summit' Becomes Something of a Brouhaha
At least Crowley is smart enough to take his lawyer with him.

An Arrest Made In 'Idol' Contestant's Death
Alexis Cohen, the American Idol contestant best known for flipping off Simon Cowell, died in a NJ hit-and-run on Saturday. 23-year-old Daniel Bark has been arrested and charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
RIP Glitter Girl.

Yesterday we spent the day at Ft. Desoto Park beach
We saw dolphins playing offshore, a stray sting ray or two, and a few friendly grouper who seemed very comfortable around groups of humans in the water.
Then I found this innocuous bivalve shell in the water and set it on our blanket to keep the two sides attached until it was time to go home.
Later, I picked it up and saw a bunch of long legs in it...
Turns out a large spider taken refuge inside the shell presumably to get away from the heat.
Talk about heebie jeebies. Yeah, it wasn't all fun at our day at the beach.

This is an actual quote from Obama to CNN about How African Americans Are More Fundamentally Rooted In The American Experience
"That’s part of the African American experience. You are, in some ways, connected to this distant land, but on the other end, you’re about as American as it gets in some ways. African Americans are more fundamentally rooted in the American experience because they don’t have a recent immigrant experience to draw on. It’s that unique African American culture that has existed in North America for hundreds of years long before we actually founded the nation."
What history books has BO been reading?
Check it out. AFCO Technologies in San Antonio, Texas got $1,444,100 in stimulus money for "REPAIR DOOR BLDG 5112".
Recovery.gov Contracts - Recipient Summary
Either that's a typo or that was one hell of a door.
Our small door and hardware installation business could use a contract like that, but I guess you have to be an Obama supporter to qualify.

My dad called me Saturday morning to ask me if I remembered what happened 40 years ago today... I must admit my first response had to do with the moon landing and then it occurred to me...
Today is the 40th Anniversary of the death of Mary Jo Kopechne at the hands of Ted "Splash" Kennedy.
Thanks for the reminder, Pipo.
Oh, the humanity, especially when you consider that Splash still serves in the Senate after all these years and after all the water under that bridge.
Good Lord. What are the voters in Massachusetts thinking?

The MSM is full of glorious praise for the accomplishments of Walter Cronkite today, so I have decided to give the counterpoint view.
The Lies Of Tet
Cronkite used his position as the "most trusted man in America" to blaze the path for the liberal activist journalism that is so prevalent today.
Thanks for nothing.

FACT CHECK: Don't Quote Sotomayor On That, Senator
Honestly, it doesn't matter if Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy ran interference for Judge Sotomayor's wise Latina comments by leaving out the part where she said that she hopes that a wise Latina, "would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."
Honestly, it doesn't matter how hard the Republican members of the Judiciary Committee grill Sotomayor and make her squirm and deny that she made statements that would give many people pause by her record of judicial activism.
Honestly, you could have video of her eating at an all you can eat buffet of live kittens and she would still be confirmed as the next Supreme Court Justice of the United States.
This is an exercise in futility.
Getting things rammed down our throats is par for the course, people, when we have abrogated total and complete power to the Democrats.
You get what you vote for.
Remember that in 2010.

The intern oogling at the G8 Summit in Italy made the news (above), but I just found out about this...
Obama Forgets Where He Met Michelle In Moscow Speech (Video)
What? BO said he met Michelle in class when they really met at work?
Yikes! Only a pathological liar would lie about something that can so easily be corroborated.
One journalist has already excused the incident by blaming it on BO's jetlag, but I wonder if the TOTUS wasn't already ailing then, exhibiting symptoms of the illness that would ultimately cause its untimely demise once back in the US.
Poor TOTUS just couldn't handle the level of lies.

Obama Doesn't Want To Look Back, But Attorney General Eric Holder May Probe Bush-era Torture Anyway
AG Holder is thinking of investigating President Bush, yet he drops charges on the clearly guilty Black Panthers on the charges of voter intimidation at polling places in Chicago during the election of 2008?
GOP, Holder Battle Over New Black Panthers
Holder isn't just playing politics, he's playing race politics.
From Scientific American comes:
Why The #$%! Do We Swear? For Pain Relief
I don't think this study proves that science has figured out the exact mechanism of why people curse, but it sure as frak makes me feel better to let loose with a string of obscenities when I get hurt.
Don't ask me why, but I find that running around like Rob Petrie from "The Dick Van Dyke Show" helps too.
I do both swearing and running. It's quite a sight.

The object of the game is to destroy American capitalism by having the government take over everything!
Tokens include a bus, a teleprompter, a sprig of arugula and a waffle iron.
Wanna play? No??? Too bad, you're already playing... But, in this game, nobody wins!
[The BLOG note: Hat tip to eldest cubelet's friend A.R. for this. Wishing you a speedy recovery, kiddo.]

Via GeekPress comes this...
15 Creepiest Vintage Ads Of All Time
I had trouble picking just one creepy picture from the list. Some are wicked funny, some are wicked stupid, and some are just wicked.
Make sure you click on #6 and read about the use for Lysol that I just couldn't believe was for real, but it is.
Gives me a whole new respect for modern marketing mavens.

From the Huffington Post:
"Mrs. Obama looked resplendent in a yellow frock, offset by a green ceramic flower brooch, and two-tone pumps".
Are we looking at the same photo?
I'm seeing a plucked Big Bird standing next to a doofus with a used car salesman smile.
Oh, and the President of Italy and his First Lady, too.
I guess there is a slight disconnect between Huffpo and The BLOG.

From the Canada Free Press:
Hondouras And Chavez: What You Should Know, What The Centralized Media Is Not Telling You
It's a darn shame we have to resort to reading Canadian sources in order to get news that's not the liberal party line.
