Veal Cake

It Is Not A Dog's Life For America's First Canine

Bo, the Portuguese water dog that lives with the Obama family in the White House, has enjoyed a first birthday befitting of America's first canine with a specially-produced cake made out of veal.

Veal? What, no Wagyu?

UN Fall

A British nuclear expert has fallen to his death from the 17th floor of the United Nations offices in Vienna.

Nuclear Expert Killed By 120ft Stairwell Fall

A UN spokesman in the Austrian capital said there were no "suspicious circumstances" surrounding the man's death.

Typical. Move along. Nothing to see here.

Except that four months ago another UN worker also believed to be British fell from a similar height in the same building.

Uh huh.

Could this be a case of pro-active defenestration without the window?

Or should the UN officials be more careful about where they discard their banana peels?

Smack Down

From Crush Liberalism comes:

Obama Tries To Bar FOX News From Interviewing Pay Czar... And Fails Embarrassingly So

What?

Yes, the press pool, consisting of reporters from ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, and NBC, told Obama that if FOX wasn't allowed to interview the Pay Czar, then none of them would interview him either.

What?

Michelle Malkin @ Hot Air seems to think that it's more from self-preservation than from the larger principle of free speech, but I'll take the baby step in the right direction.

Now, MSM let's see some giant leaps...

This headline caught my eye:

No leadership? ... no problem.

I have a thorougly unqualified candidate in mind for the Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership.

Political Football

"Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams."
-- ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

The American Spectator has a good article about the politicization of the NFL among other institutions...

Who Is DeMaurice Smith?

Racism is alive and well in America and it is being perpetrated by the left. How
racemongers such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are afforded any credibility is an outrage, pure and simple.

Three words, Rush:

Only In Tampa

This is very sad...

Justice in Tampa Florida (AP) - A seven-year old boy was at the center of an Hillsborough County courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible..

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Football Team, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

Smart Stuff

Don't not even think of skipping this from Thomas Sowell...

Random Thoughts

It's a very quick read and full of gems. My favorite line is:

"Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Muammar Qaddafi and Vladimir Putin have all praised Barack Obama. When enemies of freedom and democracy praise your president, what are you to think? When you add to this Barack Obama's many previous years of associations and alliances with people who hate America-- Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Father Pfleger, etc.-- at what point do you stop denying the obvious and start to connect the dots?"

Yeah.
