Vanished Virus

Virus Vial Missing From 'Secure' Galveston Lab

Officials from the Galveston National Lab are quick to add that there's no reason to believe there's a threat to the public.

Yeah, don't worry about hemorrhagic fever... the only thing that really scared my old virology professor were prions.

Fantastic Spock Socks

These are the most fabulous socks I've ever seen... and I mean that.

First we have a new Pope, then scientists claim they've found the 'God particle' (really a Higgs boson) and now this:

15 Foot Sinkhole Swallows Golfer In St Louis

Sheesh. Like we needed one more fluke event to worry about in this crazy, mixed up world.

2013 Off To A Bad Start

Hi everyone. Thank you for the sweet comments. I'm sorry I haven't explained my absence at The BLOG until now. Turns out, four days into the new year, I found myself in the hospital ICU with a collapsed lung. I spent 20 days in the hospital and then weeks at home recuperating. I'm feeling better now, but I'm by no means back to normal. I have not given up on The BLOG and will try, time permitting, to post now and then until I recover fully. Hope to get everything back to normal soon. :-)
