Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts was lobbying his Democratic colleagues to filibuster the Alito nomination -- an uphill fight, given that none of the chamber's 55 Republicans has opposed his confirmation and three Democrats are on the record supporting it. Sources close to Kerry, who lost to Bush in the 2004 race, told CNN here that the senator was calling colleagues from Switzerland, where he was attending the World Economic Forum.

I just love how Kerry sets up the jokes by making his comments in Switzerland. He mocks himself and he doesn't even know it! What a tool.
ReplyDeleteGood observation. Kerry does that a lot. Remember his voting for it (the war), before he voted against it. He doesn't even realize how ridiculous he sounds. That is priceless.

ReplyDeleteI have to say, I'm embarrassed by Ted Kennedy & John Kerry. Would I like to have seen a woman nominee? Yes. Would I like to have seen a more moderate nominee to serve as a swing like Sandra Day O'Connor? Yes. But I'm not convinced that Alito is the radical right wing conservative ideological tyrant they've decided to protray him as. They're making complete asses of themselves and making democrats/liberals look like whiney crying babies which does nothing to help our cause.
