Deep Doo Doo

OROVILLE, Calif. - A 24-year-old man could be shoveling horse manure as part of his punishment for punching a police horse.

Butte County Superior Court Judge Stephen Benson sentenced Robert William Huff to 20 hours of community service and 24 hours in jail after he pleaded no contest Tuesday to a charge of assaulting Bailey, a police horse.

District attorney Mike Ramsey said he hopes Huff's probation will be spent "shoveling horse manure at the Chico police mounted unit's training grounds."

When asked why he punched the horse, Huff replied, "Me Mongo".

    Let me try again.

    BAD Man:

I punched my horse once too, it was wrong, but I did. She threw me and then reared and landed on my chest. Luckily only severe bruises were my injuries (and some pride too). She never did it again and neither did I.

  3. Ouch. Bad horse! She was lucky she only got a pop for what she did.

Apparently, this police horse stepped on this guy's foot & he backhanded it. Different circumstances.

I love horses, I have one and go for a ride on the back of a horse is wide open Iceland is a thing I feel so priviledged.

  7. "Me mondo" is Spanish for "I lost my hair."

  8. Who punches a horse? I can see poking a cow (hence the term "cowpoke") but there's no "horsepunch."

    What an idiot!

  9. People shouldn't hurt animals when they are mad a another human!

  10. The 'me Mondo' reference is from Blazing Saddles. Mondo is the big guy who punches a horse & the horse falls down like the horse in the picture.

I don't advocate hurting animals, especially large ones like horses and elephants, etc.

  11. poor sweet horse. I'm surprised the horse didn't bite a good chunk out of his arm for tha. Horses can be fierce when provoked.
