Amateur sumo wrestlers, compete in the baby screaming contest, known as Naki Sumo (Crying Sumo), a traditional ritual performed as a prayer for the good health of children, at Senso-ji temple in Tokyo.
I guess kids are terrified of both sumo wrestlers and Santa Claus.
Don't forget clowns! They scare the bejeebers out of kids, too! (or is that just me?)
