Botox Box

From Reuters: "A live video image of Canadian-born actor William Shatner (R) appears on Rogers Wireless Chief Marketing Officer John Boynton's video phone during an unveiling of North America's first real-time video conferencing cell phone during a news conference in Toronto."

Yikes, the Shatman's face looks like it's about to pop. Thanks, but that's one image I don't want beamed up to my video phone.

  2. i hope he's okay - some steroid treatments cause this type of swelling - it doesn't look like botox as it makes one unable to make a smile.

  3. I did notice that it looked like
the Shatman had had his eyes done, and the tight 'lizard mouth' is usually indicative of a facelift, but, in reality, I don't know what plastic surgery he's had done.

I know that he looks really bad in this photo.

  4. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't necessarily want everyone to see me whenever I answer the phone.

There are days when I welcome the secrecy of the the normal phone.

I predict sales for video phones won't go stellar.

  5. They should do a remake of the Twilight Zone "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" where he freaks out because he thinks he sees a gremlin on the wing of his plane. Turns out, he just sees his own reflection.

    Mwah mwah mwaaaaaah.

  6. He's certainly looking unpleasantly puffy, but unlikely that cosmetic work would be causing it.

If he'd had botox they would have at least gone to the trouble of injecting that big frown line between his eyebrows.

I agree Cubicle: I don't ever want to have to worry about how I'm looking just to take a phone call.

  7. now there is a good enough reason, not to get a video phone in the first place!

  9. Is he still boozing it up?

If not, it could certainly be a steroid treatment of some kind.

  10. if video phones ever become mandatory - i'll make sure the nancster is seated upon the porcelain throne every single time it rings (whether need be or not) and you can bet there will be some sort of noise going on!

  11. caz: The man just turned 76. He's had cosmetic work done. I didn't say it was good work ;-)

I don't know why these celebrities don't just allow themselves to age naturally. Sometimes they don't look better.

    minka: I hear you.

  12. brooke: I suppose it could be steroids. I don't know much about his health.

    nanc: Too much info!!!!

  14. I can't help it.
    I just love that guy!
I think he's pretty darn amazing for his age and so funny. I like that fact that he laughs at himself and doesn't hide under a rock just because he's aging.
I DO wish that celebs would allow themselves to age without resorting to obvious measures.

  15. j.d.: No matter how old he gets, he'll always be Captain Kirk to me.

  17. caz: I've never watched "Boston Legal". It's one of those shows I'd like to watch in theory, but never get around to doing it in real life.
