Really, it is a shock to see these 62 incidents (and counting) in list form.

Next time someone argues that there is no liberal bias in the media, pull out this list and smack them squarely in the face with it.

These are only the ones that have been verified. Who knows how many other instances there have been that we just accept as true.

Great piece, but it's only looking at outright lies and plagarism, etc; the "big" stuff.

ReplyDeletecaz: Thanks. Good article. But I don't equate dumb errors with the deliberate falsification and/or ommision of facts in order to promote a personal agenda. The latter is more insidious.

I see it as being on the same continuum.
Letting errors stand, significant errors, is definitely part of the great disregard, perhaps even contempt, with which the MSM treat the public and take their responsibilities, non?
Just as not getting the facts straight before publishing is an act of contempt?
It's only in the "revealed" cases that we find out how far, and how deeply, the practice goes.
caz: I'll cede your point about errors, big & small, being part of the same continuum. The big picture is their disregard for TRUTH.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, misspelling a name, or referring to a 21 year old as a 20 year old are quite far (on the continuum) from journalists who make up stories, or use documents they know to be fake.
