Pelosi Prattle

Madame Speaker is fond of quoting a particular passage of Scripture:

"In her April 22 Earth Day news release, Pelosi said, "The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, 'To minister to the needs of God's creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.'"

Madame Speaker quotes this passage of Scripture a lot.

- December 2005
- February 2007
- April 6, 2007
- April 25, 2007
- October 2007

The problem is that biblical scholars can't seem to find the passage in the Bible.

Biblical Scholars Challenge Pelosi's 'Scripture' Quote

Perhaps we should forward another passage to Mrs. Pelosi:

"Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar."
- Proverbs 30:6

  1. How about these verses from II Thessalonians chapter 3:

10For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."
11We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. 12Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat. 13And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right.

  2. She is an embarrassment every time she opens her mouth. "the gift that keeps on giving" for Republicans.

  4. a word about worship. funny how lefties will use the name of the MOST HIGH when it behooves them. and all of a sudden "faith" is chic - but not when conservatives practice it.

cube - i could spit when i hear her nonsense - if they make it into the white house, you can bet they'll go back to b.a.u..

matter of fact - i don't trust one single politician who uses the name of God. anymore. leave God out of it - i have a feeling d.c. leaves a very bad taste in his mouth.

rev. 3:16 "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."

  5. I'll bet every one of her fabulist Biblical quotes occur directly before another taxation attempt.

    Ugh!

  6. I really, really don't like this woman. This is yet another reason why.

  7. frank family: If only Pelosi would read the Bible before quoting the Bible ;-)

jan: That's a great way to put it.

voracious: Why, thank you. I can feel my head swelling already ;-)

nanc: I agree. I hate a phony, religious or secular.

    brooke: Aloha!

david: I'm glad to add to the plethora of reasons.

  8. I recommend Nancy not toss scripture around to serve her agenda. She will find there's a whole lot more verses in the Bible that she'd rather NOT acknowledge.

I hope you are surviving all the busyness of preparing for two graduations.

  9. I've read the alleged "scripture" over and over again, and still have no idea the meaning or intent.

    Guess Pelosi doesn't either.

  10. Ah, okay, the first part makes no sense, but now I've read the full "scripture".

It doesn't take a biblical scholar to figure out that the text is not biblical.

The only challenging question is how she has been permitted to get away with such (left-greenie) tosh, passed off as the word of god, for this long with no-one raising a questioning eyebrow.
