Probably the worst thing we can do is give this cretin credibility by discussing him. I do have to give the Brits credit, several of the national papers have been high on Palin. So they have some class. He definitely does not represent the citizens.
I'll offer a slightly different perspective. I think Russell Brand is utterly innocuous. His type of comedy is so silly, so utterly banal, that I think his "retard" remark was little more than a pop culture reference. I'm not sure if he's doing a "take" on the role of a brain-dead pop-rock Brit or if he really IS a brain-dead pop-rock Brit... either way, he usually makes me laugh and rarely ever makes me think. Check out his performance in the movie "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." He's the best thing in a very funny (if utterly vulgar) movie.
