  1. I find "No Pun Intended" to be the most irritating term used in writing.

It's like, wow, I just said something so amazingly funny because it can be taken two ways, but I want to people to think I had no intention of doing something that comically brilliant so I'm going to say "No Pun Intended" to point out my pun that I intended!!!

  2. How did they forget: "I'm pregnant." ?

  3. I hate the phrase: "Yeah--so we have to talk."

  4. In the Marines, I learned that any utterance following, "With all due respect" wasn't respectful at all.

I'm getting tired of, "The fact of the matter is ..." for much the same reason. What normally follows isn't a fact at all, but an opinion.

"In other words," usually means the speaker didn't say it adequately the first time.

    Hey ... this is fun!

  5. "It appears to me" there are quite a few words,"you know what I'm saying".

  6. I have no problem with 'Fairly unique' or "rather unique'. Absolutes only exist in the abstract. In the real world, uniqueness is a matter of degree and perspective.

  7. I hate the constant "Have a nice day."

Also "tax cuts for the rich" and "worst economy since the Great Depression"

  8. I have two, one political and one not.

"What the American people want is ...": Whenever I hear this, I cringe, no matter who says it.

"Needless to say, ...": This--with anything after it--is contradictory. And annoying.

  9. "I could care less"
    "revert back"
    "orientate"
"nucUlar" (at least we won't have to hear THAT anymore!!!)

    "like..and like...and then I go.....and he goes, like........"

  11. As a doctor, here are a couple that get under my skin:

    - "No English"

    - "Doc, ya gotta do something about (insert horribly painful body part here)." This usually precedes a request for some kind of narcotic medicine in high doses since that is "the only thing that works for me". Yeah, right.

    And another political one..
    - "Let me be clear". Nah, I'd rather have you be wishy washy about it...

    Irregardless-- Dammit, just say regardless!

Starting every other sentence with "Actually,".

    "I know for a fact." -- AAAAHHHH!!!

And finally, "He him ME in MY ___." OF COURSE it's your arm, or whatever!

  17. .
Very fun post and comments. I personally agree, absolutely! But at this moment in time, at the end of the day, you realize that it's not rocket science.

I mean, with all due respect, it's a nightmare 24/7, and it's not even fairly unique.

I know I shouldn't of have said all this, I just should have said that I really hate the phrase 'you know, nothing for nothing but', this was a lot of fun.
