Tacky Headline

From the New York Times comes this article about President Bush hosting the Obamas at the White House:

A Visit Both Historic And Perhaps Awkward

Thing is, the title of the article was changed, yes changed from this:

"Obama Will Visit Bush, Watching Out for Tacks on Chairs in Oval Office"

I kid you not.

  1. Ahhh. The old "tack on the chair" trick! Those clever White House staffers!

  2. This will be standard for the New York Slime. For the record, Bush is showing far more class in the transfer than the Clintonistas did. He has ordered his staff not to vandalize the White House like the Clinton staffers did when they left. Naturally this comparison will be lost in the media.

  3. Incredibly petty, but not unexpected. The President and First Lady have been nothing but gracious to the Clintons and all the other democrats.

  5. That's boring. The Post and The Daily News are where it's at for ridiculous headlines. I imagine one of them probably said, "Obama Bush-Whacked!" or something.

  6. Well, considering what happened in the Oval Office during the Clinton Administration, tacks really aren't that bad. I imagine the Bush family had to bring in a biohazard team to clean that place up. :-P

  7. Oh, for the love of Mike!

Does the Times have a cadre of seven-year-olds writing for them? The maturity level is similar!

  8. They're enjoying this...but they'll see what Obama's all about soon enough..

amd then we get to watch them make lame excuses.

Let the fun begin I say.

  9. Over and over again, the left is looking for proof of racism. I'm sick of this crap, which has been going on nonstop since November 5.

  12. Why not just write every headline "He's Perfect, He's Flawless, He's Obama!"

At least the Bush staffers won't remove all the letter Os from the White House keyboards the way (as Chuck points out) Clintonites removed all Ws ...

  14. One thing's for certain, Pres. Bush and Laura have been classy from start to finish. They will go out with quiet style and without fanfare.
The Obama's could learn from them.
