  1. Sad news. I too am a big fan of the show. I even have a toy collection going. Although the show seemed sappy for some, I remember being a kid, hoping to one day see the Robinsons make it back to earth.

So with that, imagine my sheer and utter disappointment with the movie!

  2. I was a fan of the old show myself. And yeah, the movie was what I would call a flawed reboot.

I'm hoping for better with the Star Trek reboot.

  4. What is with all of the sci-fi folks dropping here of late?

My hubby is a HUGE Lost in Space fan. He even has a model robot that yells the catchphrases.

I'll show him your post in the morning when he gets off of work.

  5. Rats. I'm probably a bigger "Lost in Space" fan than Steve.

Now he can exchange barbs with Jonathan Harris in the great "sandy rocky planet TV soundstage" in the sky.

  7. danger - danger, will robinson!

i always thought he and rosie (from the jetsons) should have gotten hitched and then later when i saw r-2d-2 though for sure they had illegitimate children...

  8. So are you trying to tell me it was just a vehicle?

Sorry Cube, bat as a boy I longed for the day I would have my own robot. Much like you long(ed?) for a jet pack!

My robot, however, would not have an easily accessed (and removed) power pack and would have to have one arm as a chainsaw!

    It's a New Hampshire thing.

    Rest in peace

  9. I thought the killer chainsaw deal was a Texas thing.

I've blogged about this too. Anything "Lost in Space", I will probably blog about.

I used to love that show, I always hoped they'd find their way home.

  13. Danger! Danger!!
I loved that show, and I had no idea who it was that manned that goodhearted robot.
I loved the Dr. Zachary Smith character.
I used to watch that show a lot.
Thanks for reminding me of that show.
    RIP, robot man.

  14. OMG, he's gone. Really? I always thought he was the robot mold from which R2D2 or C3PO were created. I loved that show as a kid.
