Not Funny: Barack Obama Laughs At Wanda Sykes "Joke" About Wanting Rush Limbaugh Dead

Can you imagine a conservative making these "jokes" and getting the kind of pass Wanda Sykes received from the press?

Further proof that speech is only considered "free" when it comes from the left.

    I saw this "roast" on CNN yesterday. I don't think its ever funny to wish someone harm or to call them a traitor. Part of what we have a right to here is freedom of speech. Rush is not my favorite person, but I respect his right to his personal opinion and would fight to keep that right for him, even if I did not agree. Does that make sense?

    Jan: Wanda Sykes was the skunk in the "Over the Hedge" cartoon. Now we find out that a lot more stinks about her.

    Ananda girl: I guess what I'm upset about isn't what Sykes said -Rush can take care of himself. My point is how is this any different from the crap that Michael Savage says, yet he is banned from the UK, whereas Sykes is entertaining.

    The principle of free speech, as it applies to today, seems to be free only if you happen to be a liberal and filled with consequences if you happen to be a conservative.

    Look at Miss California. Another case in point.

    Jan: She is a comic whose act is usually much more crude. I guess she toned it down for this audience. Sort of like a black Janine Garofalo.

    Chuck: It's only hate speech if it comes from the right. Everything else is free speech.

    I have watched Wanda on tv and other places, she is very funny. But I think she went a little too far in her speech and I was a little uncomfortable.

    I can take what they dish out. It is the liberals who can't take a joke when it is directed at them. When that happens, it is mean spirited and over the top.
    Jokes don't mean a whole lot.
    It's reality that has me worried.
