Karl Malden 1912- 2009

My sister V. will be crushed...

Oscar-winning Actor Karl Malden Dies At 97

True, Malden lived a good long life, but the recent rash of celebrity deaths is starting to get a little eerie.

  1. Wow. Another one! You're right it was a nice long life. He did something right.

I enjoyed his work very much.

Let's hope this is the end of deaths for a time.

  2. I am picturing Death wandering around, knocking people off, muttering about his upcoming vacation time...

Aw, I liked Karl Malden though.

  5. All the celeb deaths + the constant rain must mean the end is near.

  6. cube - I didn't know about this until now. Like they say about
Morgan Freeman - the same about Karl Malden - 'a movie is always better when he is in it.'

  7. Ananda girl: I agree. I hope this is the end of this grisly celebrity death jag we've been on for the last month. There have been others I haven't mentioned like Fred Travolena and Gale Storm. Enough is enough.

Laura B.: I liked Malden too. He was a good actor.

crazy4coens: Mr. Cube also thought he died a long time ago. Most people did. The only reason I knew he was alive was because he was born on my sister's birthday and I 'tormented' her for years about it. I can't begin to explain it - it's just how our family flows.

    Don't judge me unfairly!!!!

That's very sad...he really was so good in everything he did.

  9. crazy4coen: Yeah, I caught the Gary, Indiana reference. It's a weird, weird world, isn't it?

Beckeye: You can't have the apocalypse without mammatus clouds filling the sky ... oh wait, nevermind.

Sue: I agree. Malden was a class act.

Chuck: Me too. He was in some great movies and, of course, the Streets of San Francisco.

  10. Z: He was a master at his craft. I'm weary of all the deaths recently and I, too, hope for a respite.

  11. cube, must came back to your site and saw the perfect CAT blog for this weekend and glanced at Spock's (I think that's Spock, I told you i've never watched on Star Trek!) picture below, just above this, and I froze .."Not HIM, too"! Thankfully..not! :-)

  12. Z: Yes, it is Spock but he's wearing a Jedi robe & holding a light saber from Star Wars. And thankfully it wasn't his obit.
