A diminishing tide lowers all boats except for those of the elites. They'll still get their certified organic Tuscan kale and Kobe beef. Why? Because they can.
Let the unwashed masses eat macaroni and cheese from a mix.

Wouldn't it have been cheaper to have some white house staffer go pick up the required veggies? Sure, but that wouldn't have provided the photo op fix MO needs every now and then.
