Book Toss

From the UK Daily Mail:

Obama Has The Book Thrown At Him: Moment A Missile Narrowly Misses U.S. President's Head (And What's With The Naked Man?)

Remember when President Bush had two shoes thrown at his head by an irate Iraqi reporter? That footage was played over and over on the cable news shows.

I wonder if this will get some attention here other than a link on Drudge.

  1. Oh, heavens no it won't get ANY play!

Remember that Bush saw that shoe coming and got out of the way (which the MSM though was amazing that he had the reflexes and thought to do it)... Obama didn't get hit because of do-dah blind luck. He is completely unaware of what is going on around him!

I posted on this too. Heh.

  2. I think that we all know the answer to that already.

  3. I would give good money to have a "Throw a book @ Obama" flash game.

  4. And then there was the long explanation of the cultural significance of shoe throwing. Really added to our store of knowledge.

  5. Brooke: I heard it got a passing mention as an "unscripted moment".

Your expression "do-dah blind luck" made me laugh. He does have a sh*t-eating grin on his face and has no clue what was transpiring right by his jug-earred head.

  6. grandmazazas opinion: Yes, it was a rhetorical question. It will only get passing mention, if any.

Right Wing Extreme: How about "Throw the Constitution at Obama" flash game? ;-)

Jan: Absolutely. Everyone knows that here in the States, lobbing a book at someone's head here is considered "an unscripted moment" and nothing more. Move along. Nothing more to see here.

  7. No way will the msm tell much about this story -- if even a word.

  8. As I just said at Brooke's site, let's hope Obama REALLY "Gets the book thrown at him" and SOON! :-)

  9. It was also funny when it happened to Bush, not so much now

  10. Whoever threw it needed to use War and Peace, not that skinny little thing. And they had really bad aim, unfortunately.

  11. Was it a "choose your own adventure" book, or maybe a MadLibs?

  12. Cube - This got hardly any attention. But people were amazed at how agile Bush was ducking the shoes.

Even though I was not a fan of his, I was glad he didn't get hit. That just isn't presidential.

  13. Reports are slowly trickling in. It was an overzealous fan trying to get his book in Obama's hands. Still no name, no name of the book, etc.

I recall with the whole Joe the Plumber incident, the media dug into that man's personal history, finances, background, etc....
