I believe she knew it was wrong, but, as an elite, she be also believes she is above following the rules that are primarily for the unwashed masses.
As far as the boob belt goes, I think she's trying to make a statement much as MLK had a dream, she's trying to tell the world she has a waist. OK, she needs to wrap it into a Scarlett O'Hara type harness, but by golly, there is a waist!!!!!
Let's not talk about the muffin top and muffin bottom phenomena that ensues from the belt...
