I read another story not long ago about a war dog whose master was killed in Afghanistan; within a day or two, the dog lay down and died. Are animals capable of being heartbroken? I think so. I have a hard time thinking that animals don’t have souls.

Take sled dogs. Most of these guys love their dogs. PETA would make you think they are all beating them.
