Sad End

Mummified Body Of Former B-Movie Actress Yvette Vickers Found In Her Benedict Canyon Home

I remembered her best for cult movies like "Attack of the 50 ft. Woman" and "Attack of the Giant Leeches", but the IMDB database revealed a long and diverse career.

I don't know how the poor soul ended up dying and her mummified body not being discovered for almost a year.

Very sad end.

  2. It is sad, but it also defies belief. Didn't the mail carrier notice the yellowed mail? What about the electric bill, or the lawn maintenance? Were these bills paid by an accounting firm or automatically debited by the bank.
If so, it's a cautionary tale for anyone living alone.

  3. Whoa. Not one person checked on her in an entire YEAR?

That is so sad! And the mail carrier thing was one of the first ones I thought of...

  4. Very sad that the mail carrier didn't mention the yellow mail piling up. Very sad that the neighbor didn't make a point of checking on her more often. Very sad.

Also sad was the death of Allison Hayes, the actress who played the 50 foot woman. Hayes died in 1977
at the age of 46. Her death was was due either to leukemia or lead poisoning (due to doctor-prescribed calcium supplements).
