ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz

I don't know how scientifically credible it is, but from BBC News online comes this interesting article about our sleep habits...

The Myth Of The Eight Hour Sleep

I'm often up in the wee hours, but unlike the Savage Chicken, I don't stress out about it. I use the time to read or watch TV until I fall asleep again. And we're usually up with the chickens at our house no matter how little sleep we've gotten that night.

That's how the Cube family rolls :-)

  1. I must admit when I am having trouble sleeping I keep an eye on the clock and dread that I am missing so much sleep, since I am up at 5:30 am to get ready for work. ARgghh...

One word to help you sleep: Melatonin.

  3. I am sure that I often do that thing where I think I am awake and I'm actually sleeping.

I don't sleep all night and haven't done it often since I was a small kid. I sleep between 5 and 7 hours a night most nights. It does not bother me to wake and be busy all day. I still wake energized.

But I do admit that I will also take a nap when possible if I feel sleepy during the day. Reading or doing a mental puzzle can make me want to drowse, but only for about 20 minutes at a shot.

  4. My bi-pap machine has saved my world of sleep (and my life for that matter). Love Savage Chickens and start every week day reading the newest one.

  5. Cube - Does this mean that you will be doing a 'chicken blog friday' ha ha

I sleep pretty well but I read that if ya wake up during the night it is best not to just lie there but get up and do something.

I knew a woman once who would do housework - even vacuum - in the middle of the night. I think that is going a bit too far. I just to on the computer.

Have a GREAT weekend with your family - Cube.

  6. Leticia - Melatonin made me too groggy in the am so I only took it once. But it is a more natural vitiman based sleep aid - and that is good.

  7. silly rabbit - That is interesting that you mention the sleep/awake thing - because I've had it a couple of times. IT IS WEIRD.

Sorry you have trouble sleeping - that's no fun.

  8. When visiting Bisbee, make sure you stop by the Queen Mine for a fun and interesting underground tour. This beauty has been here always, waiting for me to find the mind to see.My tears are dry now, the inner sea stilled by gasping realisation. death in 1862, the jewel passed through the hands of Lord School Work had been a busy man, running around with my girl while I was out doing good natured things like strolling the local parks & looking for fresh lilies so I could bring them home to my girl, the most beautiful creature god ever made. Using the same map as before, I have highlighted several possible aim points for the llama bombs.
