  4. Hi Cube - Happy Star Trek Anniversary.

Have you checked out the google icon today? You'll like it.

  5. Leticia: I want one too and so do my three cats. They don't have Trek names like your kitty, but we did have a beloved German Shepherd named Dax.

I have been to the Google page and it feels like a labor of Trek love.

  6. Anonymous: Thank you for dropping by. Always happy to meet a fellow Trekker.

BTW if you're handy with a sewing machine, which I'm not, you can draw up a few prototype pet costumes and sell them on eBay. I'm sure there would be a demand.

  7. Sue Hanes: Yes, I found it yesterday. The Google icon is interactive fun for a Trekkie like me and one that belies Google's knowledge of Trek lore that leads me to believe that they actually know at least the basics. I was happy with it.

  8. Cube,
Off topic...Heads up! If all goes well (free spay, FeLV and FIV tests, and vaccinations), by this time next week, we'll add a kitten to the AOW household. We haven't had a kitten here since 1999.

  9. AOW: Good for you! A new kitten will jazz up your lives.

  10. AOW: I hope you know we'll want pictures :-)

  11. Cube,
I have a post in draft form to announce Amber's arrival. Yes, the post has photos, which were taken by the foster family.

Amber is a dark tortie with very unusual markings. She would make the perfect cat for a Halloween post!

  12. That is so cute! Puck would love one.
I had guests on Friday... my grandson and his mom and dad, so I missed this post on time.
Happy 46th Star Trek year! Its certainly living long and prospering!

  13. AOW: She sounds like a beauty. I don't know if you know this, but I have a tortie who is one of the most loving cats I've ever had.

Amber may be perfect for Halloween, but I hope you don't make us wait that long for a picture.

  14. Silly Rabbit: Your cats don't have to be Trekkies to love this cat tree. It's beautiful.

Thanks for the Trekkie greeting. Glad you could drop by.

  15. Cube,
I've had the pleasure of a few blond torties as members of the family. My beloved Dusti, whom I lost 3 weeks ago today, was a blond tortie. So is Mysti (age 13).

But I've never "owned" a dark tortie before!

  16. Cube,
I went back through your archives and found photos of Kinky. The kitten we're getting looks a lot like Kinky!

  17. DS9 cat tree?!? I must have it!!!

As for tortes...The kitten the kids brought home is a dark tortie with carmel markings.

She has a Futurama name; Nibbler. And it fits! She is highly food and prey aggressive, and VERY talkative! I've never had a cat like her!

  18. AOW: I never had any experiences with torties before Kinky. My sister got her from a co-worker who classified her as a silver tabby. When I first laid eyes on her, I thought she had been burned in a fire or something. Once I picked her up, I realized she was born a tortie and she acted like a
very sweet kitty. Then I felt her tail and found it had a pronounced kink in it... her name became Kinky on the spot.

This cat is the smallest of three cats and two large dogs yet she runs the house. I'm her favorite, but she's loving to others in the house. All in all, she was a wonderful choice as a loving cat.

  19. Brooke: I'm a huge DS9 fan and I would love one of those cat trees too. It's a thing of beauty. Why didn't I think of it... *sigh*

Our dark tortie with caramel markings has turned out to be an awesome cat. Kinky is a good hunter and she runs the house, but she isn't food driven at all. This cat is all about love... mostly aimed at her favorite human.. ME!
This cat is dog-like in her devotion. The other folks in the house are jealous at her cat love for me.
