We were in line to vote before the polls opened and there was already a decent sized line in front of us. Once inside, the scanner stopped working and our ballots were manually stuffed into a plastic bag by one of the poll workers.
We were assured that our votes would be counted later.
I've had an absentee ballot for many years. I just take my ballot into the polling place and bypass the long line
