You're right. A cat wouldn't be sitting at the door waiting for their human. A cat would have found the human's absence to be the perfect time to sleep on the human's pillow.
According to my welcome every time I get home, I think my two pups have this conversation every time I leave. Love it and no, the cat does not worry. He lets that up to the dogs :)
My daughter's dog (long haired dachshund) dug a trench in my carpet under the door between my living room and office in the short time we were out to dinner.
My son's dog (a Great Dane) ate half the wall in the guest room.
I guess my granddogs fear they are going to be left with me:)
That could be my pack whenever i go to the bathroom. They are convinced there is a back door.

The cat is relaxing and napping. The cat will worry when it's food is all gone and the litter box is full. The dogs worry about everything. Love this.

The cat could careless, because the human is their servant, they are king/queen of the castle. No worries.
