Soda Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

... a kitty illustrating what Midwesterners refer to as POP.

I've lived in the Northeast and the Southeast and I call it soda.

What do you call it?

Happy Friday everybody.

  2. I call it "soda." Mr. AOW, from Pasadena, California, also calls it "soda."

I have some Southern friends who call it "soda pop."

But I think that we can all call the kitty in this graphic "CUTIE!"

  6. Always On Watch: Yes, I've heard soda pop from Southerners from the Bible Belt, but not in Florida unless they're transplants.

And yes, that kitty is a cutie.

  7. Sandee: Yes, a cat and a box go together like a child and a box go together.

So you say soda and you're out in California. I haven't done exhaustive studies, but I don't think there's much of a pattern as to how people regionally refer to soft drinks.

  8. We Michiganders are "pop" people, but I sometimes use "soda" just to be contrarian.

  10. DaBlade: I asked my youngest daughter if she wanted a soda pop and she turned to me and said, "Mom, since when do you say soda pop?"

I was just trying to see if she'd noticed. She sure did.

Next I'll try soft drink ;)
