Coloring Books For Adults?

I loved coloring in coloring books... when I was a kid!

I came across this annoying commercials for coloring books for adults the other day and I couldn't believe people were actually falling for this loony trend.

Think again:

Adult Coloring Books Selling Like Crazy

Apparently, I was mistaken.

  1. Some people just like reliving that part of their childhood, i guess. It doesn't do anything for me, though.

  2. Messymimi: I agree, but it sounds like infantilism to me. A few cases of this wouldn't bother me, but a trend makes me think about the causes of such behavior. What's next, dressing up Barbies?

  3. Maybe they are for people who could never color inside the lines when they were children. I know a mother of two boys who still dresses up her baby dolls (not Barbie).

  4. I love coloring when I was a kid too. I help my son learn to color, then my granddaughter and when she was too old for coloring (her words not mine) I has happy to be done with coloring.

    I'll pass on this. ☺

  5. Jan: I'm not so sure about the psychobabble about coloring within the lines. I colored in the lines because I thought it would make a more aesthetically pleasing picture... the rest of my life, well, maybe there was some truth to the proverb.

  6. Sandee: I'm with you about coloring with the kiddies. If I had the time in my world now, I would create my own drawings like I used to in the old days. I'm not all about science, you know, art is big in my world, too.
