All Of My Spiders Have Been Named Charlotte

Thousands Of Spiders Come Together In Dallas Suburb To Make Giant Web From Your Nightmares

No, I'm not visiting Rowlett, Texas anytime soon...but I don't want to come down too harshly on spiders either. I've had very interesting interactions with spiders.

I had one living in my mailbox and she was very good about scurrying out of the way when I went to get the mail. Well, on this fateful day I noticed that Charlotte wasn't in the mailbox and I really hoped that nothing bad had happened to her. My attention soon turned to the mail and I was shocked to see Charlotte on my hand!

Yikes!

My husband watched the ensuing spider freak out. He told my daughters that their mom had just had a nervous breakdown at the mailbox.

Yeah, that was Charlotte's last day on earth.

  1. I HATE flies, so I leave active spider webs alone in my house and patio. I do get rid of the ones that have dead fly carcasses in them.

  2. Charlotte should have stayed in the mailbox in hiding. That's where she made her mistake. Poor Charlotte.

Have a spider free day. ☺

  3. Jan: You make me laugh.I hate spiders, but I love the fact that they eat bugs. It;s a love hate thing. Yeah, I'm conflicted.

  4. One of my favorite books as a child was Be Nice To Spiders, and i raised my kids on it. We don't freak or hurt spiders unless they are poisonous. That must have been such a fright, though!

  5. Cube - I can't say that I am sorry about Charlotte's demise. If she had been on my hand I would have had a nervous breakdown. No spiders are my friend.

  6. Messymimi: All spiders are venemous, some not as much as others. I hate the ones that invade my space. We get some aggressive ones here in Florida. I saw a huge one in my garage and I threatened it with the laundry basket I was holding and it actually charged at me.

  7. Woodsterman (Odie): I don't like them either, but as long as they stay on their webs and eat bugs I'll leave them alone.

  8. Sue Hanes: I got over Charlotte's demise quickly. I'll let spiders live if they stay away from me, but when they cross my personal space, they're dead. At least spiders don't fly at you like our huge roaches do. Now that's creepy.
