Another United PR Mess

WHO BUN IT? British Bunny Riddle As Rabbit Destined To Be World’s Biggest Dies On United Airlines Jet To U.S.

Simon, set to become the world's largest rabbit, was found dead in the cargo hold of the Boeing 767-300 when it landed at ... get this, O’Hare airport.

Seriously, what happened to Simon?

United Airlines has more explaining to do.

  1. If they landed a hair earlier st O'Hare, would that have saved the hare?

  2. Not having read the article, i can't say what may have happened. Could he have fared better had he been stowed under a seat instead of in the cargo hold? Stowing animals will baggage has never made sense to me.

  3. Impertient: No bunny knows what happened ;)

  4. Messymimi: I've never traveled with an animal on a plane, but I wouldn't want to leave it in the cargo hold all alone. I would imagine it could be a terrifying ordeal for the poor thing.

  5. nice puns :/
Today's airline meal consists of a steamy bowl of hossenfeffer stew.

  6. No more Easter Eggs for the people at United Airlines.

  7. LL: United is in the same boat as FOX News. They can't seem to do anything right.

  8. Poor United. And poor Fox News too. It's an all out effort to shut conservatives up. It won't work, but they are trying really hard.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

  9. Sandee: The left has had it in for FOX for a long time and FOX should've exercised better judgement over the years. Progs can do no wrong and conservatives can do no right. A cautionary tale if I ever heard one.

  10. "The friendly skies" will take a long time to recover from killing a bunny rabbit. It's hard to imagine a worse thing to happen. The above word plays are still funny though

  11. I'm surprised they put a very special animal like that in the hold! Can't they take some precious little tiny puppies on board with the passenger? I think they can in First Class?

    I LOVE THE PUNS above!
DaBlade...HASSE is rabbit in German and it's HASSENFEFFER STEW!!

  12. Jan: The "friendly skies" aren't so friendly so friendly any more. I have no idea how they let Simon die like that especially in light of recent events. I would take extra precautions just to avoid more bad press.

I confess that I feel a little like Mary Richards felt at Chuckles the Clown's funeral. I know the rabbit jokes are in bad taste, but I couldn't stop myself. The landing at O'Hare put it over the top for me.

  13. Z: Yes, I'm surprised at that too. I mean here's a rabbit bigger than a German Shepherd and you're going to treat it like a bag from KMart?

I never studied German, but I did grow up watching Bugs Bunny. That's where I first came across the word 'hassenfeffer'. A lot of those cartoons are hardwired into my brain.

  14. Poor fellow or gal. Doesn't it still get very cold in the cargo hold at 33,000 feet?

btw How do you catch a unique rabbit?

    unique up on him.

Were there any female rabbits in the hold and was he healthy enough for sex?

  15. Kid: I have no idea how cold it was in the cargo hold. I do know poor bunny boy didn't survive the trip. Ha ha about sneaking up to a unique rabbit. The bunny puns do continue. I have no idea about the female rabit ratio in regards to the cargo hold. How in the world would it matter?

  16. Cube, some male rabbits (especially the large ones) have hard heart attacks when in the company of too many females. They just don't know how to pace themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Kid: That's possible, but how many female bunnies were there in the cargo hold of that plane?
Did Simon have a female bunny entourage traveling with him? Now the Playboy puns just keep getting better.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I've heard through unverified sources than Simon travels with no fewer than 37 females.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I should add that the source was a member of Simon's senior staff but had to speak anonymously because they didn't have permission to speak about the matter and that calls to Simon's playboy mansion were not immediately returned.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Kid: Oh yeah, well my unverified sources say Simon traveled with 47 female bunnies. And this information comes from very senior Simon staff.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 47 ! Well that nails it then. Everyone knows a big bunny can't handle more than 45 in a single plane ride. Dang. Bunny got to know his limitations.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Kid: Who says, you? Seriously? My lawyers can prove 47 and half. So there.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Lawyers? Like the ones that got OJ off ? ;-)

    haha

    ReplyDelete
  24. Kid: Yes, those very ones. Simon has a case... OK, his itty bitty babies have a case.

  25. We need to support the itty bitty Simon baby bunnies ! I have emailed Trump !

  26. What a hare-larious story this is! Rip big buns...

  27. I have had pet bunnies. My daughter has two at home. They can get easily frightened to death. Heart failure is more likely for over-wieght rabbits too! Or perhaps suffocated in a pile of bags would be my guess.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Kid: E-mail? No! Trump is more likely to listen to a tweet!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Snaggle Tooth: You're just as wicked as we are with the puns.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Snaggle Tooth: We had a pet bunny, too, but he lived a long time maybe because we never flew him anywhere. Rabbits are prone to heart failure if they get too scared. I'm no rabbit, but I know I come close to heart failure when I fly. Yikes!
