  1. I always thought there was something creepy about the little purple dude. Glad I don't have to explain that to a child.

  2. That's so wrong at every possible level.

  3. Jan: My girls are adults now so it doesn't worry me either. I do worry about my little niece and nephew. My sister and brother will have a lot of explaining to do when the Dora the Explorer expose eventually becomes known.

  4. Jan: I never thought that when my girls were little. I watched many an episode and thought it was a lame show, but I didn't see anything sinister in it. It was a half hour of peace for me so Barney was welcome in my house back in the day. My eldest even had a Barney Halloween costume one year. Very cute.

  5. There's nothing cute and innocent any more, is there?

  6. LL: I don't know what to think. This guy graduated from ITT Technical Institute, worked as a software analyst at Texas Instruments, and then went to work as Barney. This is a very complicated person.

  7. Messymimi: Next we'll be reading about how Mr. Rogers was a Navy Seal that killed many enemy soldiers.

  8. Well, It seems obvious now that perverts, especially those focused on young people and children put themselves in predator positions. Barney, foster parent, gym coach, etc.
I would start out suspicious of anyone in a barney role or any of the others mentioned.

  9. Kid: It's very obvious now that pervs do put themselves into positions to be around children, but imagine being the majority of the teachers, coaches, and/or foster parents who don't abuse children and how they're unfairly perceived. Build more prisons if you have to, but it's a situation that calls for much longer sentences for child molestation.

  10. Crimes against children are the absolute worst. At least Adults had the opportunity to learn how to defend themselves, etc. Penalties should be very severe for crimes against children.

  11. Yes, they're the absolute worst and they should be punished with the maximum the law allows.
