  6. I KNEW my day would come.

Usually people just say words to the effect that, "You'll get yours one day, LL"

  7. Me too! well, whatever I can get away with. Yay there is still power here. Women are the world's power I think! Men wouldn't be where they get without our assistance!

That's ok, I like carrying the women are great torch!

  8. Yes, we should not have to name a special day. Tell that to the many cultures around the world that believe women are property.

  9. I'd be embarrassed to have a men's day.

Women's day ? Jesus, you women give Birth ! That's enough right there.

I think women screwed themselves with "women's lib" back in the 70's. I sure hope they don't do it again with the "feminist movement" but no doubt they will.

  10. LL: Lol. That sounds like the warnings my mom gave me when I was growing up. I drove her crazy with my pranks and she'd day, "One day you'll have a daughter just like you and then you'll see." She was wrong because I ended up having two wonderful daughters who were not nearly as bratty as I was.

  11. Snaggle Tooth: Men and women complement each other. Neither of us would be as great as we are together.

  12. Messymimi: Absolutely. I would call the males in some countries little more than animals, but there are many cases in nature where the relationship between males and females are much more symbiotic.

  13. Kid: When I was growing up, with very few exceptions, women were nurses, secretaries, or teachers. For goodness sakes, women couldn't even deliver mail! So what you derisively refer to as "women's lib", I call a necessary movement that opened up opportunities for women that was long overdue.

Things are so different now that women don't need the stridency of the old days of feminism, but I'll never believe that the availability of those opportunities would have happened spontaneously without the insistence of large groups of women.

  14. Women should have any opportunity available to them that they want. Many do want to I'm sure. I have heard women tell me that they think some women screwed themselves by moving into the man's world. I've also heard there are more divorces now because women don't have to rely on the guy's income now so it does go both ways in terms of benefit.

  15. Kid: You made my point with your first sentence. Women didn't have their choice of opportunities back in the day. Today women can choose their own path in the world. Who benefits by staying in a bad marriage only because you are dependent on a man's income rather than relying on your own? Certainly not the woman.
