The Sloth Nebula

Blog buddy, Kid, likes to post astronomical pics on his site Diary Of A Right Wing Pussycat . His latest The Witches Broom Nebula made me think of one of my favorite nebulae ...

  1. Every time a new nebula is revealed (some in infrared or UV), I find a new favorite.

  2. is that "The Bumble?" (the Abominable Snow Monster from Rudolph, not The Kid)

  3. LL: I do too, but this Sloth Nebula isn't a real one. I changed the title of the post to reflect that.

  4. DaBlade: It is Bumble-like, but I changed the title of the post to reflect that it is, indeed, only a nebula-like interpretation of a sloth.

  8. Jan: Yes, sloths have been under-appreciated for a long time, but I think they're beginning to catch on. One of the most loving animal hugs I've ever received came from a sloth who didn't want to let go of me. The trainer had to gently pry her away.

  11. Messymimi: Like I told Jan above, I got the best animal hug from a sloth at Busch Gardens. The trainers like to walk around the crowds with different animals and they love to talk about them with the guests. The gentle baby sloth wanted to go home with me. It was so sweet.
