Weatherman, All Wet

Weatherman Dramatically Braces For Hurricane Florence While 2 Guys Casually Stroll By

The Weather Channel didn't help itself by releasing this statement:

UPDATE: Sept. 14, 2018, 3:36 p.m. PDT The Weather Channel issued the following statement to BuzzFeed: “It’s important to note that the two individuals in the background are walking on concrete, and Mike Seidel is trying to maintain his footing on wet grass, after reporting on-air until 1:00 a.m. ET this morning and is undoubtedly exhausted.”

At least they didn't make a big deal of the boo boo on the weatherman's knee.

  1. Around here at the first snow fall the guy outside always picks up a hand full of snow to show us. Ummmm - yeah - that's snow all right.

  2. Well this is a perfect depiction of our media. Smoke and mirrors.

    Have a fabulous day. ♥

  3. That is hilarious and typicaL of fake drama we get.

  4. Sandee: For goodness sake, they can't even tell the truth about the weather!

  5. Jan: (We were typing at the same time) I expect to get fake news in most liberal sources, but now it's rare to get truth even on the Weather Channel. Unbelievable.

  6. The drama of a weatherperson, clad in foul weather gear, bracing against 100 mph winds was made for prime time - if only those pesky people wearing shorts hadn't come sauntering by.

The integrity of news people is 0. Absolute zero (-273 degrees). What scum.

  7. LL: It's all about ratings and has very little to do with science and common sense.

Since you bring up absolute zero (-273.15) ... Did you hear about the woman who was cooled to absolute zero?

    She's OK now.

  8. What a pathetic statement to make.

Cube, I'd say it's about ratings and climate scare mongering.

Oddly enough,we looked at a bunch of these type videos from various storms at work yesterday. This is no one off ! :-)

  10. Boudreaux cousin Gauthier be a weather man, an’ dey ax him why he don’ go out an’ be in front de camera in the hurricane, an’ he say, “Mais! My job be to tell de weather, not to get wet!”

Ratings or not, the weather channel overdoes it.

  11. It's those pesky microbursts, or dust(less) devils, or local climate change. Or something. Cut poor Mike Seidel a break!

  12. "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows"

  13. Kid: Ratings and climate scare mongering. That's it, right there.

  14. DaBlade: I've been thin all my life and my family always joked that one day the wind would blow me away. Well, wouldn't you know that one day, as an adult, a big gust of wind actually picked me up off my feet. I didn't fly but a few feet, but it scared me silly. I weighed more than 2 ounces ;)

  15. Thanks Cube. We support each other.

  16. Messymimi: Gauthier is right. I hate that so many meteorologists are forced to stand out in the rain when most people should be inside and out of the storm. HLN had their guy, Bob Van Dillen, standing where they thought the eye would be, but he got battered by the worst part of the storm instead. At least that was real weather and not the fake stuff from the Weather Channel.

  19. Another prime example that the media is lying to the nation. I'd laugh it wasn't so pathetic.

  20. Trekkie4Ever: Unfortunately, that's the state of "free speech" in our country. It breaks my heart.
