Cat Blog Friday
For this Cat Blog Friday...
... I would like to introduce the newest addition to our family... Mini, a little stray who found her way into our hearts and has become an official part of our family.
PS - we recently had a feral adopt us. Took a while for her to be comfortable coming inside. The last winter she was out, I'd made a cardboard box covered in pink insulation and plastic film and with a heating pad inside. After a year and a half she finally ventured in. She is now a pampered warm weather kitty. She is good down to about 32 degrees and anything above that she wants to be outside. She demands to be outside. Below 32 she sticks her nose into the air of the open back door and decides to remain in the lap of luxury.
Sandee: Mini went from a hardscrabble life on the street & fear of humans to a warm house with food, a running water fountain, and lots of love. She picked the house with the figurative lollipop on the front yard... sucker! 😉
Kid: It was an amazing transformation. When she started coming around for the food, she wouldn't even come within 30 feet of us. Slowly she got closer and closer and she has turned into a super cuddle bug. It's a wonder to see what a little love can do.
Kid: It's not easy converting feral cats, but you know it can be done with patience & love. I know you've done it before. It's nice to know that your kitty is smart enough to stay inside when it's cold.
We have the older two, Butter & Shoshin, who are indoor/outdoor cats & demand to go outside when they want. The younger two, Taz & Mini, although both from the streets, have decided they like the comforts of indoor life & we want to keep it that way.
It really depends on the individual cat because nothing happens without the cat thinking it's their idea.
Always On Watch: Yay! Lovely to hear from you again, old friend. Yes, little Mini turned from a stray cat in the street, to a loved, well-taken care of cat in her forever home.
OMGosh! Look at that perfect little "M" on her forehead. Soooooo cute!

ReplyDeleteLL: Mini makes four. I thought three was plenty, but Mr.Cube was smitten and wanted to keep her after we had her spayed.

Yes, no two personalities alike in my experience. We probably fostered 50+ kittens back in the day. No two alike.
