SheiKra!

My family and I went to Busch Gardens today. We've been many times, but for one reason or another hadn't ridden SheiKra, the newest ride.

In case you're not familiar with the park, SheiKra is a roller coaster that carries riders up 200 feet at 45 degrees, then hurtles them 70 mph back toward the ground at a 90-degree angle. It is the first coaster of its kind in the Americas and only the third in the world.

SheiKra is the first dive coaster to incorporate an Immelmann loop, a water feature, and a second 90-degree 138-foot drop through an underground tunnel. SheiKra also includes a 360-degree climbing carousel. 3,188 feet of steel track offers a total ride time of just over three minutes.

This is what it felt like...

It was soooo much fun.

  4. Typo indeed, except it should've read Shriekra judging by the screams. Especially when they suspend you at the edge of the precipice for 4 full seconds & let you see the 200 foot fall that awaits.

  5. I went on the Mindbender at West Edmonton Mall, that was scary enough for me. The Shrieking thing sounds wild! :-)

  8. OMG - I could never do it. I went on a perfectly ordinary roller coaster ride ONCE - that was enough for me.

  9. WOW. I've only been on small amusement park coasters, where the whole thing rattles and threatens to collapse which, in a way, is scarier.

  10. I didn't know they made roller coaster straps that could safely house a cube. Good to know and glad you had fun my friend. :)

  11. wendy: Busch Gardens is a definite must see. Way better rides than Disney World and free beer!

sar: they pulled out the special cube containment modules for me & my little cubelings ;-)

  13. I AM a chicken. I am a total chicken!
My irrational fear of heights + a scorching case of motion sickness + the knowledge that someone fell off the Lightning Loops at New Jersey's Great Adventure like a year before I went there and it was all caution taped off and that scared the crap out of me + the fact that my aunt's harness came loose during one of those pirate boat rock you back and forth rides and she had to be HELD INTO HER SEAT by the guy sitting next to her....yikes!!! = I ain't NEVER getting my behind on a ride that proposes to flip me upside down whilst going Mach 10.
    Uh uh.
    Ain't gonna happen.

That's why I supervised the little kids group when our summer camp went to Magic Mountain.
Bugs Bunny rides I can handle. Heck, I even took the ONE adventurous 5 year old on Colossus. But I'm NOT flipping upside down. No way.
    No.
    Not gonna happen.

  14. jessey: how do you feel about flying?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I don't fly often, but when I do, I have rituals to get me through it...
    I know...I'm crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh yes rituals. Do your rituals involve imbibing large amounts of adult beverages ;-)

  17. When I originally commented I clicked the "Notify me when new comments are added" checkbox and now each time a comment is
added I get several e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove people from that service?
    Cheers!

  18. I do not leave a bunch of responses, however I browsed a few of the responses here "SheiKra!".
I do have 2 questions for you if you tend not to mind.
Is it just me or does it look like like some of the comments look like they are coming from brain dead visitors?
:-P And, if you are writing at additional social sites, I would like to
