Rain, Rain, Go Away

And so another Hurricane season begins...

It's been raining since ~4 a.m. and there looks like there is no end in sight until tomorrow. We needed rain. The Florida aquifer is filling up as I type this which is the only good thing I can think about Tropical Storm Alberto.

Now, go away!

  1. here's my chant for you cube,
"rain, rain, go away and far from mid-Atlantic region stay!" I hope your deluge ends soon and that Alberto doesn't work his way up the coast to my neighborhood. :) try to stay dry.

  3. Do they think, giving it a name, make sit somehow less annoying and more familiar?
Alberto or no Alberto, rian in the summer sucks!
We are fortunate as well...tomorrow there will be sun and then we will have another week of rain!
It is a conspiracy by the weather gods and I feel like I need to have words with them!

Gas prices went up $0.30 in my area today because of speculation that this may become a cat one hurricane.

  8. Hang tight, cube. When you have enough wet stuff, can you send it over here? The gommint doesn't want to admit it, but we are in a very long drought condition here...

  9. Prayers being sent your way, Cube! "Splish splash I was taking a bath..." or "Oh, I love a rainy night..." Yeah, I didn't think it would cheer you up much. But, Hey! I tried!

    God bless.

  11. Thanks everybody! Your kind words have helped. Alberto was relatively mild, as these things go.

My previously crunchy-dry lawn swallowed the boatload of rain without flooding.

Today some warnings remain in place, it's windy off & on, and we're in for some more rain, but I think the worst has passed us by.

Let's hope everyone else in Alberto's path fares as well as we did.

    Thanks again.

  14. Feel free to send that rain over to us - the dam levels around Queensland (Australia) are down around the 30% mark and some are completely dry.

Make sure that it you send the rain that it drops about an inch a day for the next 3 months - that should get us out of drought for maybe the next year or so.

Cat-1 Hurricane? Isn't that just like a bit of a rain squawl? :)
