Snake Oil Bracelet

Q-Ray Buyers Misled

U.S. District Judge Morton Denlow ordered QT Inc. of Mount Prospect, Illinois, and its owner, Que Te Park, to refund more than 100,000 buyers of the bracelets -- priced up to $249.95 -- and forfeit profits of $22.6 million earned between 2000 and 2003.

According to Judge Denlow, the Q-Ray bracelet doesn't really quell pain.

No duh.

This case illustrates the power of infomercials that run in the wee hours and pummel poor insomniacs with empty promises that are too good to be true.

  2. I don't know what so many people are doing watching infomercials at 2:00 AM when there are so many hot, sexy singles in your area ready to party on the phone with you right now.

  3. Darrell: HAHAHAHAHA!

Q-Rays? Are those anything like tachyons in Star Trek?

  5. raggedy: yes, some of these idiots will be reunited with their money.

    darrell: LOL!

brooke: unlike ordinary particles, the speed of a tachyon increases as its energy decreases. This is a consequence of special relativity because the tachyon, in theory, has a negative squared mass, therefore, it, can't possibly be the tachyons from Star Trek :-)

woman: and there's a sucker born every minute ;-)

  7. Duh!
People should be sleeping at that time of night when those infomercials are shown.
I mean we are barely capable of making good decisions in our waking moments, insomnia is beyond human!

  9. I once saw a magnetic ring that claimed that it made you immortal and could not die. And yes, it sold, and yes, those people were idiots.

  10. Wow, can you believe they made so much profit off the braclett...

the amount they were charging was pretty costly, that's incredible...I'm glad the court got involved.
