PICTURES OF THE YEAR 2006 - A mouse rides on the back of a frog in floodwaters in the northern Indian city Lucknow June 30, 2006.
This photo caught my eye. In all, 207 photos were selected for Reuter's Pictures of 2006 some were notable, but some of the photos were a bit questionable.
Just one example: Is this photo of a woman dropping a skinned frog into a blender (to make a juice popular with working-class Peruvians) worthy of a Best of 2006 retrospective?
Not so much.

they get braver by the day - why, one came out the other day and wanted some soy sauce for the bag of rice he found in the cupboard...
which is reminiscent of the great literary work "if you give a mouse a cookie".
