A Tale Of Two Presidents

Reagan's Wit, Humor Comes Through In Detailed Diaries

Then there's Jimmy Carter...

The Rankest Ex-President

This week brings news of a presidential diary and of presidential diarrhea of the mouth.

15 comments:

  1. Carter is the only president in my recollection that has had the utter lack of class needed to malign a sitting President.

Regan's wit is no surprise. What a gift for the generations his diaries will be.

  2. Don't forget Clinton. He's done it too, but he's forgiven his indiscretions more easily than Carter.

  6. If you look at Pres. Reagan's face, even after he got Alzheimer's it is a happy face. Carter's is becoming more and more bitter!
I guess that the old saw about old saints and siners is right, you just become more of what you already are!
Good morning, G*D bless and a Happy Shavout!

  7. Ah, yes. I forgot about that one, Cube.

Of course, it's hard to forget about Carter when he doesn't have the sense to SHUT UP for awhile!

LOL! You just KNOW Shrillary told BIll in no uncertain terms to NOT do anything stupid in public!

  8. He's lost his mind. It's that simple. His presidency will always be known throughout history as the absolute worst...ever. Now he's just acting like a cranky old peanut.

  9. Clinton's comments have been much more reserved. Carter is in a class (or lack thereof) by himself.

The tradition--never airtight, but generally held--that former presidents not attack current ones has kept the US from some of the nastiness many developing countries face. Let's get back to that institution, shall we?

  11. I think if a sitting president screws the pooch, there is no better person to call him out than a former president. They'd know better than anyone.

  12. Jimmy Carter was and remains obsolete.

He was forgettable, and he probably knew it--that is, perhaps, the best explanation for why he continues to stick his foot in his mouth to get attention--and/or he really could be that dumb.

  13. The contrast couldn't be starker. One President who loved America, one who doesn't.

  14. Carter tried to back away from some of his nasty comments. He is appaling.
God help us in 2008 to nominate someone like Reagan.

  15. j.d.: He can run, but he can't hide from his statements forever.

Being called irrelevent by the White House is probably the worst insult that could've been hurled at the peanut president.
