New Words

New Mirriam Webster Dictionary Includes 'Ginormous'

I thought ginormous was a word, but crunk is a new one to me.

The English language is full of surprises. For example, gullible is a word that's
not in the dictionary, yet everyone knows what it mean. Go figure.

  1. Dumbing down the dictionary seems like a bad idea to me. In fact, I'd call it a ginormous mistake.

hey, it's the beauty of English. It is dynamic - with forces for change and structure constantly battling and allowing for growth. Remember, contractions were once considered "dumbing down the language".

I won't be adding "crunk" to my vocabulary. Any kind of rap is hitonious to me.

  9. I tested my Webster's dictionary widget, and the only two I couldn't find were crunk and sudoku.

All the other words, including ginormous, were there.

All of my dictionaries include common words like gullible. Someone must be having a lend of you Cube.
