Bottoms Up

Mr. Cube received this gift from a business associate... an Hijos de Villa blue agave tequila bottle that's shaped like an automatic pistol and the set comes with two shot glasses.

Mr. Cube is a bourbon man so I guess I will have to take it upon myself to not let this aged tequila go to waste in the war against rheumatoid arthritis ...

Alcohol Cuts Risk Of Developing Rheumatoid Arthritis

Maybe I'll just let this tequila age some more. It's just too purdy to open.

In the meantime, pass me a Romulan Ale.

Cheers, everyone!

  2. Too cool to open. Well, maybe a special occasion will present itself and the tequila will be history.

  3. That is a very interesting looking bottle. I would almost say that at some point it could be valuable more for the bottle than the liquor. Years ago I bought my husband a Wild Turkey ceramic bottle which was a collectors item. Of course, the value would be reduced if the bottle were opened. I could still strangle one of my kids who decided to open the bottle.

  4. carry it in a shoulder holster to the liquor store, whip it out and demand a replacement bottle of bourbon!

that ought to make the evening news!

Of course, any blue cocktail can be a Romulan ale with a tad of imagination... :)

  6. What a unique and wonderful gift.
I like the look of it.
I tried to think of a pun using the word "shot", but my mind is not working well at the moment.

  8. jill: I'm not going to sell it or anything like that. I think it's just too pretty to open...unless there's a really special occasion - Um, like Friday ;-)

nanc: You are hell-bent towards getting me into trouble.

brooke: Hypnotiq is the perfect shade of blue. I've even got a tasty recipe for Klingon blood wine.

j.d.: Don't worry. I couldn't think of anything witty to say about shots... well, except doing some shots.

    crazybunnylady: Cheers!

  12. Cube - if you look at the numbers it is not that impressive. If you round off and say that drinking at least moderately (1-2 drinks a day) cuts your risk by 50%, and the risk of getting this disease is 0.5-1.0%, then 200-400 people would have to drink moderately or more to prevent one case of rheumatoid arthritis. How many of those would die of other alcohol related illnesses and accidents?

  14. Love the uniqueness of the bottle! I'm not much on tequila but I would really consider tasting Klingon Blood Wine. For research purposes of course. ;)

  17. Speaking of "bloody" drinks, the last time we were at the grocery store, we passed an endcap with the pre-made drink mixes for various cocktails. One was red and labeled "Bloody Mary Mix."

My six-year-old, who's become very good at reading signs and labels gasped, and said, "Mooooom! Is that REAL blood in that bottle?"

This was the part where I nudge her father, who is sure to say yes, and explain it's just a funny name. LOL!

  18. david: I think you'll have to travel to Mexico for one.

angel: It's a nice gift. If I were an enterprising person, I'd buy a whole bunch of these and sell them online.

    nanc: Happy Friday!!!

dr. john: I agree. It's best to rely on moderation in all things.

    z: It is quite clever.

taj: The recipe for Klingon Blood wine that I've tasted is good, especially if you like cranberry juice.

    kat: I agree.

  19. brooke: heh heh. I'd be tempted to say yes myself. I've told my kids a few whoppers in my time.

  20. Wow, a drink with a real kick to it! What will they think of next? This glassware reminds me of the Avon bottles my sister used to get me for Christmas. You name it, they had it. The only thing different was the choice of liquid.
