Back Is The New Boo-Tay

Michelle Obama demonstrating the size of her butt?

No, that would be in bad taste, much as this article from Salon...

First Lady Got Back

I'm not a fan of MO, but the woman does have feelings.

  1. And all this time I thought it was the thighs, not the butt.

  2. I am inclined to think from what I have heard, that in part, among some portions of peoples and cultures such as African-American, it is considered attractive and an asset to have a large, prominent, as..err, posterior. Am I wrong?

  3. And I will be glad the day I get to watch that booty walk out of the White House door.

  4. So, she has a big bohunkus.
    Who cares?
I DO care that she only recently became proud of her country.
    That bugs me a lot.

  5. And don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out.

  7. jan: Go figure.

bw: I'm not a memeber of the culture, but think you may be correct.

    papa frank: Amen to that.

j.d.: I agree with you. There is much to criticize about MO than the size of her butt.

    chuck: lol.

    dmarks: lol.

  8. Funny thing--I didn't see a parallel article about how supremely white Sarah Palin's skin was ...

  9. I wonder how MO felt about this article. Proud? Indifferent? Irritated?

To the author, I'm thinking, get over it, sister. You're an infidel, like me. There are much bigger things to be writing about.
    Sheesh.

  10. You know I'm not beneath being trite, asinine, or vapid Cubicle, indeed, vapidity is one of my favorite things, but this piece fails to hit a single right note. Clearly intended as a compliment, and a call to arms for black 'sisters', but it's too gratuitous to be taken seriously.

Even the cultural references and hopes for a surge of hoop earrings across the land are a throw back to an era long gone.

No mention that MO is - how tall, 6 ft without shoes? - and for a lady that size she mostly presents well, with appropriate outfits to suit her height (all except that hideous thing she wore on election night, which would not have suited any woman alive).

Maybe the 'influence' should be the other way around: with any luck other ladies will start to dress & attend to personal grooming to present with a bit of decorum. I know I'm not hoping that MO will turn into a frizzy haired hippie once she arrives at their new abode in January.
