Forrest J. Ackerman 1914-2008

I was very saddened to hear of the death of Forrest J. Ackerman this week.

Sci-Fi's No. 1 Fanboy, Forrest J Ackerman, Dies At 92

In tribute, I'm going to re-read his Ackermanthology!

RIP, Mr. Ackerman.

  1. Cube, the link doesn't appear to be working

  2. Sorry about that. I rushed the post. It works now.

The article is a brief glimpse into Forrey's fantastic life.

  3. Oh wow. I've been reading some of his old monster magazines lately too!

  4. dmarks: Famous Monsters? I remember those.

I sure wish Forrey got around to writing down his autobiography. The man was a virtual walking encyclopedia of science fiction.

I wonder if his vast collection will be auctioned off or donated?

  5. In case anyone is interested, this is Uncle Forrey's My Space Page

  6. anonymous: Ditto. I'll certainly miss him.

anonymous: Thank you for sharing that. It's so typical of Forrey to be 92 years old and have a MySpace page. He was always on the forefront of everything. What a cool old dude.

  7. thanks for posting my friend.........

  8. Hey, Cube, a friend I had lunch with Sunday mentioned this guy's passing and how he had been to his 'museum/ house'...said he was a fantastically nice guy.

  9. woman: You're welcome.

Z: Forrey used to give tours to the Ackermansion all the time. He was always willing to please the fans.
