Happy Pi Day

Today also would've been Albert Einstein's 130th birthday.

To celebrate Pi Day, here's a neat search engine that will let you search for any series of numbers within the digits of Pi.

Search For Digits Of Pi

My entire phone number occurred at the 1,4**,*** th digits...

How cool is that?

  1. That was cool, I played with it longer than I would admit :)

  2. Pi is much more fun than pie and less fattening too.

    Happy b-day Albert!

  3. I don't know much about pi, but Walter Isaacson's Einstein is a great book. I can't believe he is 130!

  4. Chuck: So did I. Pi is second only to Phi in my book, unfortunately, 1.618 doesn't readily lend itself to a celebratory date.

Ananda girl: I love Pi, but pie is definitely tastier.

sue: Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for that biography.

  5. Who is that dude scribbling on the chalk board and who styles his hair?

By the way, I always round my apple pie up to the nearest slice.

  6. None of my phone numbers (work, home, cell and boyfriend's number) appeared with all 10 digits. But they were in there without the area code.

  7. Since I sucked bad at math, the day went by as a breeze for me.

  8. i had a somewhat melancholy pi day this year - it would have been my best sister's 50th birthday...sigh...at least i got to spend it at my favorite place - THE MOUNTAIN!

  10. DaBlade: Surely you jest... about Einstein, not about pie ;-)

citizen of the world: I didn't try it with my area code. I guess I'll have to play with that search engine some more. It'll be a scientific experiment ;-)

Woman: Cherry is my all-time favorite pie. Key lime is second. Pecan is third.

Brooke: I love apples, but apple pie, not so much. Does that make me UnAmerican? ;-)

Steve Harkonnen: Math is an acquired taste. I think the easier it is for you to do, the more you like it.

nanc: Sorry to hear that. I don't know how you're feeling, but I know you're strong enough to handle whatever comes your way.

  11. Jedi Master Daryl: Hey, good to hear from you again. And nope I hadn't heard about the cologne. Does it smell good?

Right is Right: lol. I'd gladly celebrate a Happy Pie day as well.

    You'll get no rest now....

    QQ

I knew I'd crack through this internet annonymity eventually. The triangulation of the shuttle's exhaust trail pointed me to your approximate location. Zip code for sure: actual stalking to commence shortly....

Is Mr. Cube a dangerous fellow? Are you?

  13. QQ: I am not a dangerous fellow

  16. Oh no, about my phone number it says: The string ********** did not occur in the first 200000000 digits of pi after position 0.

I didn't realize there was a pi day!

  17. Birdwoman: Neither holiday is official. Only the geeks remember them.

Jen: I didn't include my area code, did you? That may expain it.
