Maxine



This is our Doberman, Maxine. She vomited on the hardwood floor in the office today and I'm mad about it. I'm the alpha female in this house and I'm cleaning up her vomit? What's wrong with this picture?

    She is gorgeous but you could have let mom know you needed to go outside. Yes you could have. Mom will be the alpha in the house. Always.

    I don't think the poor thing knew she was going to vomit; it was one of those extemporaneous things that happen with dogs. Boom! You have a vomit loaf on the floor and you're lucky if it's on the hardwood floor and not on the carpet. Meanwhile, there is a cat pressing herself onto me as I write... we don't live in a house, we live in a zoo.

    Cube - She doesn't look too upset about having vomited on the hardwood floor.
    In fact she looks calm and collected. Looks pretty sure of herself.

    Woodsterman (Odie): My husband brought her home and he's still in the doghouse over it ;)
    Maxine is a sweetheart, but can also be very highstrung.

    I know why people are petless AND childless ;) Just teasing.

    Sue Hanes: Maxine was upset for one second, her attention span, and then she forgot all about it. I was the one madder than a wet hen 'cause I had to clean it up. That's the rule at our house... if you see it first, you clean it up.

    Paul Pietrangelo: My daughter just got a kitten and put the kitty litter box in her room. She has seen both of our dogs sneaking in there and snacking on the contents. You'd be surprised how often dogs eat inappropriate stuff. It's sickening, but it's hard for them to resist.

    Messymimi: I totally agree. You've only got cats? They're not so bad. I'm the alpha female in this house and I'm cleaning up after two huge dogs, four cats, and a pretty large turtle. The little kitten and the turtle belong to my eldest daughter, but when she works very long hours, I'm asked to help out with her critters.
