Tortie Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

... my beloved kitty, Kinky, a tortie extraordinaire.

Years ago, my sister's co-worker told her they had a silver tabby kitten that needed a home. My sister had a strange look on her face when she brought the kitten over, and when I looked into the cat carrier, I knew why. I thought the poor kitten had been burned in some tragic accident.

That was my introduction to torties.

This little kinky-tailed cat has been the sweetest, most loving cat I've ever had.

And my sister takes all the credit :)

  1. First, that some spammer you have there and I loved your comment. So appropriate for you.

Second, what a cute cat. I love Torties. I think they are most good looking.

Have a terrific Tortie Cat Blog Friday, and Feline Friday too. ☺

  4. Cube...interesting about your hubby and the Sayed name .... because I heard the name BEFORE O'Reilly's show ON FOX....not sure which show, but he was NOT the first one to say his name...Every time he mentioned it I thought "Nope, I've heard that name before and only a little while ago"

Ya, that guy SURE liked your cat!
To say this cat is the sweetest yet says a LOT about this cat, doesn't it. Enjoy!

  5. Sandee: Yeah, that spammer is a long-winded son of a gun, isn't he?

I love Torties now, but Kinky's chaotic appearance took a little getting used to at first. Now I see her as a beautiful cat, inside and out.

  6. Jan: We have a calico kitten, Missy Moo, and she's very high-spirited. Is your calico a bit of a spaz?

  7. Stevebethere: Marigold... that's an interesting name. And yes, let's hope for a spamlesstastic weekend :)

  8. Z: My husband saw the name long before O'Reilly's show, but from Facebook. I'd had my fill of Shep and his inane blather when I changed the channel from FOX. It was during a commercial that I popped back in on FOX that I heard it on O'Reilly.

As cats go, we have four now, Felix, a black domestic short hair, Shoshin, a Maine coon, Missy Moo, a calico, and Kinky, the tortie. I have had many loving cats in my life, but none as devoted to me as Kinky.

  9. Torties are beautiful! And even if there is only one way to heaven (as i believe), that's not the way to get anyone to listen.

  12. Our Amber, also a tortie, is the sweetest kitty we've ever had the privilege of sharing space with! She loves the sound of human laughter -- even if we're laughing at her. Happy, happy cat.

BTW, our Amber, too, has a little kink in her tail. Siamese in there somewhere?

  15. Messymimi: I'm not happy that I didn't appreciate torties at first. I was late to understanding that lesson, but I'm grateful that I finally did.

As to Mr. Finnell's comment, I think it would behoove him to listen to your advice.

  16. DaDude: Lol. OK, you can explain the difference to the rest of us, yes?

  17. Kathe W.: Until I got a tortie myself, I didn't know it either. I did know that a strawberry isn't a berry, but that a banana is. Science can confound a person.
