Oh my God!!!!!! As long as I'm onboard my cruise ship, I won't worry, I hope. Sharks have always frightened me since I saw the movie " JAWS ". The words I remember were, " You need to get a bigger boat ". Thank goodness I live near the Great Lakes and the Detroit River. See ya Cube.
Paul Pietrangelo: Don't worry. Your boat is a ship and big enough to keep the sharks at bay. Just enjoy your cruise. The only thing anyone has to worry about on a cruise ship are the calories. I'm still working on the extra Christmas ones I picked up. Yikes!
I've been afraid of sharks long before Jaws. Had recurring dreams that I'd die from one. I get real nervous if I'm wading in the ocean and the water is over my waist. I feel like a crouton in a shark salad. I have little interest in the ocean or the beach for that matter.
I have no interest in parading around grizzly bears (or any other kind) in Jellystone either. They're over 1,000 lbs and they can run 15 mph faster than the fastest Olympic runner. Screw that.
Kid: I was fishing from the shore one day and about chest level in water when I noticed there were a bunch of small sharks in a semi-circle around me. I started to back up slowly when I counted 24 of the little buggers. My big fear was, "Where's their mom?", but I've been told over the years that sharks abandon their young and those babies were all on their own.
I was always afraid of big sharks, but once I was bitten by a small one, I've kept my distance from all of them. That's why I prefer my pool.
I know about whale sharks, but I chose that picture because it's what I think is coming for me when I'm in the ocean. In my mind, they might mistake me for a cubular piece of phytoplankton. Yikes!
That's a whale shark with the mouth wide, eating plankton. If you search "shark" on the top of my blog you'll find all my shark writing stuff, including a real caught tiger shark pic from when I was in Martha's Vineyard. Oh n my artwork sharks.
Snaggle Tooth: I know it's not a great white, but in my mind, I'm only seeing a giant maw. I've caught several sharks, but only one of them has bitten me. I bet you can get some real beauties off the waters of Martha's Vineyard.
As long as she doesn't get in The Grand Lake Of The Cherokees in Oklahoma, I am ok. However we've got some pretty scary catfish:-)
