Messymimi: That notion became very real to us right before my Dad died. It made us all wish we had had more conversations with him before he passed. Smell the roses while you can.
Always On Watch: My cats knocked my Mother's Day vase over three times. Do you think they're drawn by the smell? We certainly are. We just don't knock the vase over when we admire the scent. I took the final rose and put it into a 500 ml borosilicate flask and, sure enough, they knocked it over, but thanks to scientific engineering, it didn't spill.
Cube, I've noticed that some cats are attracted to red. Not all cats, though. Our beloved Cameo (RIP) adored red and made a point of sitting on or pawing at anything red. Amber behaves much the same. But Mysti? Nope. Maybe it's because she's so old now. But, honestly, she seemed to have no color preference when she was young.
I'm sure that Amber was loving the fragrance of our bouquets of peonies -- especially when the flowers were fresh. Once they started to lose their fragrance and the petals wilted, she wasn't interested in them as much.
Awww, that's adorable. What a great way to kick off a three day weekend.
