What's Next?

One new thing to freak out about...

TROUBLED WATERS: Swimming In A Chlorinated Pool Can Turn Sun Screen ‘Toxic’ – Increasing Risk Of Cancer, Scientists Warn

We're all going to die, so I guess picking your poison is due... eventually.

What more can I say?

  1. Oh my gosh....TOXIC? Seems like swimming in CHLORINE is toxic anyway, but I SURE LIKE IT :-)

  2. Z: Can you believe it? Being alive means you're going to die eventually and now they're going to mess with us for using sunscreen in chlorinated water? I love my pool and now I'll do it without sunscreen. Honestly, the water in the ocean and the gulf, with the sharks and the jellyfish, scares me more than swimming in my pool.

  3. Oh well... I haven't used our pool yet but hope to this holiday weekend. We get so little time to use an in-ground pool here in Michigan. The wife and I do like to unwind with a glass of wine and stare at it after work. It's like a 30,000 gallon backyard pond. Maybe I should stock it with koi.

  4. You just wonder what they're going to come up with next. It was Yellow Dye #7, then maraschino cherries, then hamburgers, milk, too little sun, too much sun, the swimming pool, next we will learn that towel lint in the dryer will end the world.

In Florida, every mud puddle contains a gator. They worry about chlorine in a swimming pool more than that?

Have a fabulous day and weekend. ☺

  6. I have forwarded this to my scientist god-son for his opinion. Will let you know. Sounds crazy to me.

  7. I may be too much of a tropical flower to get this, but I don't understand how people in Michigan can have a pool unless it's heated.

  8. LL: I hear you. Are we supposed to be like little mice that don't live, they just panic. I want to be careful, but I don't want to panic.

  9. Sandee: There is lots of gloom and doom in the world, yes, but our time comes, it will come. We should enjoy our time when we have it.

  11. when we moved here in 2010 we didn't have a lot of options with available houses and the urgency we were under to find one. The pool came with the house, and like an idiot I thought, "well how bad could that be?"

  12. Swim when the sun is low enough to the horizon that you don't need sunscreen. Honestly, everything will kill you if used wrong.

  13. This is why I stopped paying attention to ALL health related information.

  14. DaBlade: I hate to tell you this, but a pool is a black hole where your money goes into and never comes back. Just kiss it goodbye on its way out because you'll never see it again. Believe me, I know.

  15. Messimimi: I don't know about swimming when the sun is low enough to the horizon, but I do know that something is going to kill me one day. That I know for sure. I'm just going to have a good time until that day comes.
