June Foray 1917 - 2017

Sadly, June Foray passed away last Thursday. You may not know her face, but I'm sure you know her voice...

June Foray, 99, Prolific Voice Of Rocky The Flying Squirrel Dies

To quote Chuck Jones, the legendary animator who proposed her star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, “June Foray is not the female Mel Blanc, Mel Blanc was the male June Foray.”

Ms. Foray's amazing talent brought great joy to me and generations of others.

R.I.P.

  4. Jan: Having the talent of speaking in a thousand different voices and dialects and to be able to change them up at lightning speed... now that's a great talent and a good job. I think she loved doing it and it showed.

  6. Nobody wants to discuss the wonderful puns we as kids were exposed to as a result of Rocky and Bullwinkle? Or Bugs Bunny and Loony Tunes or Tom & Jerry, et al... it goes on and on...

Talk about being in the wrong place the wrong blog place...

    I guess that's all folks.

  8. I remember that quote Cube. Thanks for the reminder ! Both wonderful people. I don't know anything specific about June, but Mel would go to the children's hospitals and not leave if there was one kid left to entertain.

  9. Z: I think you would remember, "Hokey Smoke", which was Rocky's favorite line. Mel and June were both wonderful people. We don't make them that any more. If they do, then prove me wrong.
